Supreme Court -The sudden passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg left an opening on the bench. The court is currently holding at 50-50 split between conservative and liberal idealogy. The vacancy opens up and opportunity to overturn Roe V. Wade or introdue narrower restrictions that would effectively eliminate access to the procedure for much of the country.

How to Vote?

Covd – 19 pandemic has made it difficult to do the most common of activities; dine out, go to the movies, workout at the gym. Voting is no exception. In an effort to ensure you can vote, The Commonwealth of PA and the City of Philadelphia have set up the following:

You still have to time to register to vote. The last day to register by by US mail, online or in person. The last day to register is Monday, October 19, 2020. If you are unsure of your voting status you can visit the Voter Registration Status website.

In Pennsylvania, you now have two options for mail ballots. You may either choose a mail-in ballot or an absentee ballot to request, complete, and return to your county election office.

Philadelphia county is providing early voting satellite locations. Some may call it early voting, but really it’s another form of the mail-in ballot. There are 17 locations (including the Board of Elections offices at City Hall and Columbus Boulevard) that will allow voters to request a mail-in ballot, fill it out, and return it all in one visit.

Kevin Hasset, White House Economic Advisor stated on Sunday, May 24, 2020 during an interview on CNN, “that unemployment rates could exceed 20% in the coming months as the country still suffers from the CoV2 pandemic.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, unemployment claims rose in every state and the District of Columbia.
